Youth is to every individual the most cherished part of life. The prime of time proudly announces its arrival and then fades away almost in a wink, leaving behind a very valuable memory and transforming into certain personality that lasts for the rest of the lifetime.

To experience, to observe and to document youth with the eye of art is to fix and engrave a passage of time with visual images. The feelings, sentiments and thoughts in the young age are instantly saved in the most direct ways of perception and narration. The time's memory that is individual yet so universally valuable is thus engraved. In this sense, the Youth Will is like a permanent and vivid monument, a personal epic with all the twists and depths. It bears the will of life that knows no regret or fear.

The exhibition as a convergence of artistic creations showcases from certain perspective a collective face of young artists in Beijing. These artists come from all parts of the country. They live, study or work in Beijing. Some are professional artists from the art district. Some are young teachers or students of art in colleges and academies. In their artistic paths, some choose to devote themselves to the recording of intimate feelings of personal spiritual world, while some strive to self-examine the established everyday experiences. Some reflect the exploration and practicing of the medium and materials as subject of art, and some endeavor to re-present the individual artist's thinking of and responsibility to the society. Such variety makes the collection of these works a spiritual group portrait, a pictorial allegory of an era.

These artists observe life and discover themselves from different angles and directions. In this process they extend the touch of their emotions and thoughts to present an eternal quality of attention and expression. Each of these young artists merges and contributes to the entire era and community with their individual imagination and creative power, relying on the experience, imagination and expression of urban life.
