Exhibition Preface

Liu Yuan, a professor at South Western Agricultural University, is also an artist full of passion. Whenever he is lost in artistic themes that would arouse his inner passions, he would puzzle, think and explore in solitude until his passions wake up, out of which burst out amazing creativity. It has been shown by the impressive exhibition “Visible Gun·Hidden Weapon” (Seasonal Gallery Beijing). Again, “Legend” is another wonderful exhibition out of his freshest passions.

In his art, we discover quiet magical meaning, a desolate atmosphere through time, an ethereal and pent-up ink condition, a direct but meaningful image, a powerful but depressed ethos, and all kinds of vigorous but gloomy feeling... Under so many kinds of competing factors, Yuan Liu’s inner experience, which is owned by a deep cultural meaning of a middle aged person who under a big revolution era and indelible passion, as is shown by his artworks.
