From Individual to Resonance
Art isthe visual embodiment of perception, the language of form.
Hence, some artists emphasize the congruence between the subjective and objective in their representations, akin to portraiture. Others convey the spontaneous emergence of a holistic scene devoid of causality, as with landscapes. Yet, some pursue the articulation of personal whims and conceptual visions. In my view, Zimu's art emerges as neither a pure representation nor an overt concept. It isn't constrained by formality, isn't burdened by objects, nor muddled with unnecessary actions, even devoid of explicit concepts. It transcends the separation of heart and hands, breaking free from the shackles of technique. It seeks no validation, focusing only on a candid portrayal of the soul, aiming to be a fearless practitioner of spiritual liberation and freewill.
Thus, Zimu forsakes traditional brushes and ink, turning instead to oil paints and acrylics to resonate with the inner surges of emotion. Embracing the universe within, and then explosively expressing it outward. The results are serendipitous effects and irreplaceable moments of the past. Through a third-person perspective, the artist reveals to us the fervor, tranquility, complexity, and austerity of his inner world. There's no beginning, no end, but it leaves the viewer anchored in the present, allowing us a moment of reflection in the midst of our own breathing.
The intimate revelations of the artist echo within us, speaking to the universal significance and shared value of these works. Once they resonate with us, their meaning transcends the individual artist, becoming relatable for all.
