Exhibition Preface

We’re totally unable to neglect Shen Weiguang’s critical role in the Chinese contemporary art history even though he was marginalized for such a long time and neither familiar with nor discussed by audience. We’re unable to neglect the creativity of transcendental virtual-image and its spiritual value of supernature.
 
By creating mysterious and super-experience virtual image, the called transcendental virtual-image art enables us to understand the glory and sanctity of life, the harmony among nature,universe and human beings-----the spirit plateau embodies the glory of human soul. 
 
Shen Weiguang’s transcendental virtual-image was inspired from human’s instinct, seeings and feelings, and his inner image shaped by seeings and feelings. It also originated from the most respected Chinese literator paintings, the western classic art and the modern abstract art. Consequentially, transcendental virtual-image came out of their accumulations,creativities and mergences. Shen Weiguang’s artwork embodies a sort of spiritual purity and the oriental merged methodology and enormous positive energy.
 
Through over 30 years’ creative practice, Shen Weiguang witnessed his inner faithful power and insistence upon human being’s ideals. His noble spirit and spectacular achievement enable him inimitable in the contemporary art history.
