Since the development of the architecture as a profession, the long existing relationship between society, life and art has been obscured. For a long time, the impression of architects on society has been limited to the professional imagination of architecture. However, nowadays, the diverse areas that architects involved are considered “beyond architecture”, which reflects the diverse identity of architects.

The life experience, artistic creation, or spatial manipulation, mass media of an architect are all directly or indirectly related to architecture. To some extent, these outreach of architecture lead to some of the critical and creative thinking in architecture. At the same time, the exploration beyond architecture brings new thoughts to other areas. By displaying the diverse area that architects have reached, we hope to discuss the values and significant of creativity and energetic after the architects went beyond their origins, and on the other side to review the values that brought from this multi-source after the Renaissance.

We believe that from the academia reference on "Time+Architecture", to the exhibition in Today Art Museum, and to the interaction and distribution through the internet, is a show of the open discussion from paper media to new media. We are looking forward to building the impression of the architect in public through the exhibition, and hope this topic could lead to broader thinking and sustained attention.
