In my stage, I always want to try making body dance with thought, but I also have to make my artistic behavior to be ill abed in long term. Pi Jin, who entered  Liao’s creation and became the main visual symbol of his works, not only refers to the personality of this theatrical character in specific theatrical context, but also carries concrete image signifier of comic sarcasm and mockery; and more importantly, Liao applied the visual symbol of Pi Jin in completing his overall criticism of our age and transmitting the meaning signifier behind this symbol. Now we are living in an era which witnesses individual desire excessively swelling and humanistic value sharply degrading, and all the ludicrous, ugly and deformed things happening on earth make our world absurd and ridiculous; hence, Liao gave his creation a holistic name “Vaudeville Era”. So it is evident that Liao tried to construct a massive system of value judgment in his works and Pi Jin, as the specific painting image, refers to different meaning signifier in different works. Generally speaking, the system of meaning signifier of Pi Jin in Liao’s works can be divided into three main areas: the Pi Jin who represents the embodiment of the painter himself, the Pi Jin who represents the general public, and the Pi Jin who represents some spiritual meaning—all of these three kinds are called “three flavors” of Liao’s Pi Jin by me.
