Glass art carries both the historical accumulation of China's outstanding traditional culture and the contemporary vitality of innovative artistic development. With its unique medium characteristics and cross-disciplinary integration capacity, it continues to expand the boundaries of artistic expression and has become an important art form connecting traditional culture with modern life. "Chinese Contemporary Glass Art Exhibition," hosted by the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, has been successfully held three times, in 2014, 2018, and 2022 (a special exhibition for the International Year of Glass), along with a series of academic activities. It has gradually developed into a brand exhibition platform with significant academic influence in China's glass art field.

As a 2026 Communication, Exchange and Promotion Funding Project of the China National Arts Fund, "Cheng Gu · Ning Xin: Chinese Contemporary Glass Art Exhibition" will, through multiple forms such as exhibition display, academic exchange, and social promotion, present in a concentrated manner the diverse explorations and phased achievements of Chinese contemporary glass art, further promoting the construction of a Chinese contemporary glass art system in the new era. This exhibition organizes participating works through a combination of targeted invitations and open calls for submissions. The expert reviewers for openly solicited works include Professor Zhang Suojia of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Zeng Hui, President of Sculpture Magazine, Professor Li Yupu of the China Academy of Art, Professor Shao Yu of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Wang Meng, Research Librarian of the National Art Museum of China, Professor Wang Jianzhong of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and Professor Fang Xiaofeng, Editor-in-Chief of Zhuangshi. The exhibition will ultimately present 110 works (sets), comprehensively showcasing the rich landscape and developmental vitality of current Chinese glass art creation.
