On July 5, 2026, "Everything Has Its Corner – Chinese Original Picture Book Exhibition," co-produced by Today Art Museum and Wenweiqi Picture Book Art Museum, officially opened to the public at Hall 2 of Today Art Museum in Beijing, and will remain on view through October 11, 2026.

The exhibition brings together 13 renowned Chinese original picture book artists — Zhu Chenglang, Wang Zumin, Zhou Xiang, Yu Rong, Huang Li, Jiu'er, Xiong Liang, Wu Mao, Yao Li, Hei Mi, Da Wu, Li Xingming, and Wang Jiaming — featuring 18 classic picture books and over 200 original works on display, with more than ten artistic techniques presented side by side, including watercolor, graphite, printmaking, paper-cutting, collage, gongbi heavy-color painting, and ink wash. Many of the exhibited works have received major national and international awards, including the BIB Golden Apple Award (Bratislava International Biennale of Illustration) and the Feng Zikai Chinese Children's Picture Book Award.

The exhibition's curatorial structure itself reads like an evocative literary poem. Using "corner" as the narrative thread, it unfolds across six thematic sections — Childhood, Nature, Human World, Inner World, Poetics, and Self — building a complete spiritual growth trajectory throughout the 1,200-square-meter exhibition hall.

Highlights include: in the "Nature Corner," Li Xingming's The Rhino of Sudan plush sculpture calls for life protection; in the "Human World Corner," Zhou Xiang's interactive vegetable garden from The Vegetables Became Spirits brings childlike joy; in the "Inner World Corner," Zhu Chenglang's playful sculptures from Don't Let the Sun Fall Down embody innocent courage, while Wang Zumin's Deng Deng Deng uses whispering megaphones to recreate neighborly gossip. Each corner carries distinct emotions and aesthetics, allowing visitors of all ages to find their own spiritual sanctuary.

An academic forum held on the afternoon of the opening day extended the exhibition's industry reflections to a deeper level. Moderated by children's literature writer and honorary editor-in-chief of Jieli Publishing House, Bai Bing, the forum featured four participating artists — Jiu’er, Wu Mao, Da Wu, and Yao Li — who shared and discussed topics including the essence of their works, inspirations behind the "corner" concept, artistic expression from a child's perspective, and the boundaries of thematic innovation, offering more exploratory pathways for Chinese original picture book creation.

Heaven and earth have their realms; all things have their corners. A corner is not a neglected shadow, but a breathing space reserved for imagination, creativity, and vitality. Through its six immersive themes, the exhibition guides visitors on an emotional journey — "exploring the outer world while looking inward at the self." From July 5 to October 11, the public is invited to visit Hall 2 of Today Art Museum in Beijing, step into the corners of picture books, let curiosity grow, and let imagination shine.
