Exhibition Preface

We often say “dear” to someone, but seldom address this word to ourselves.

In the fast-paced contemporary life, social standards, stereotypes and others' expectations have all become sources of pressure. How could we look inward and rediscover the truth of our identity?

On the occasion of World Museum Day (5.18) and World Inflammatory Bowel Disease Day (5.19), Today Works and Johnson & Johnson join hands with young artist Wu Xixia to co-launch the charity art exhibition "Dear Myself". Presenting Wu's performance art and installation works, this exhibition reflects on how our body shapes our identity, creating a dialogue between art and medicine, individual and the society.

This exhibition creates an intimate and reflective space for the audience to face their emotions and pressures accumulated in daily life. Through the care of both the "body" and the "mind", the exhibition aims at empowering the audience to own the narrative on their own identity.
