Exhibition Preface
As one of the most important works of Xiang Yang, Yiyuan carries his complex emotions: it is the boat that he searched for his close relatives at the beginning of his memory, it is the dream home of his childhood and adolescence, it is the ark that drifted aimlessly in life and during creation, and it is also the space for him to communicate and interact with the society and the public. The work is 11.5 meters long, 8.2 meters high and 4.8 meters wide. The timbers collected from antique furniture and urban demolition areas were dismantled and expanded, and then reconstructed into a 70-squaremeter building space. "In this space, people can sit and walk." The essence of Yiyuan is dialogue. The 70-squaremeter is the bridge, the carrier and even the language itself. Here, Xiang Yang realizes his connection with publicity.
