The First Window to Watch Chinese Contemporary Art -- Joan Lebold Cohen's moment in China

To study local contemporary art,Ms. Cohentook more than 10,000 photos for Chinese artists during the period of 1979 to 1981 and the following years, from which this exhibition selects 150 photos to display the vivid moments when Chinese artists and her communicated with each other. All these photos not only record the history, but have become valuable materials for the study of Chinese Contemporary Art in early time. 

Ms. Cohen visited art schools, art institutions and non-governmental art groups all over China and gave keynote lectures oncontemporary Western art for many times. The exhibition would reproduce one of her lecture videos:The Heart of the 20th Century: Beyond Illusionism and the audio was re-recorded by Cohen herself to reproduce the real effect of that lecture in the best way.
