The New Prominent of Academy raises the flag of contemporary ink and wash with its clearcut prospective and academic quality. An elite group of artists, mainly born in the 1970s, but also from the 1960s and 1980s are called upon and gathered here. Many years’ time has seen their collaboration and progress. These artists are now full-fledged in artistic competence and market potentials. They are the first legion of China’s contemporary ink and wash art. The exhibition New Prominent of Academy has also grown from the cradle of the new and vigorous of the contemporary ink and wash art into a brand name of our age for China’s ink and wash art. All of us are gratified and proud to learn about the taking place of this exhibition at Today Art Museum in the autumn this year. We are gratified that the steady growth of these artists marks the progressive tense of China’s ink and wash art in contemporary context. We feel proud that having the company of this new force, it would not be long before we see remarkable development of China’s painting art of the new era.
