"The RE-INK Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary Ink and Wash Painting 2000-2012", jointly organized by Today Art Museum Hubei Museum of Art, and 99ys.com, will be presented in Beijing Today Art Museum on 2 April 2013. Curated by Lu Hong, art director of Shenzhen Art Museum, this exhibition invited Ji Shaofeng, deputy director of Hubei Museum of Art to be the acdemic moderator, and it will display over 200 works with the theme of "Ink and Wash" by 62 contemporay artists nationwide.

If we say "Ink and Wash" is the general term for modern ink painting in modernistic stage and Chinese painting before that, then Re-Ink is more of a very strong post-modernistic overtone. It does not truely return to ink and wash, but is the subversion and transcendence to ink and wash. This is not just the breakthrough and transcendence from conceptional form and medium types. It actually has reconstructed a new field, which has overturned the evaluation criteria and education system concerning "Chinese Painting". Therefore, "Re-ink" is a changing concept looking into the future. Instead of giving a definite answer, it raised the possibility of ink and wash in future on the topic of "Re-ink". Consequently, "the Re-Ink Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary Ink and Wash Painting 2000-2012" deserves extensive attention of art professionals and the general public.
