Exhibition Preface

The French Chinese artist Alixe Fu has exhibited at over 20 events in Paris, New York, Beijing, France, Japan and Taiwain. He won the French Ministry of Culture award in 1991 and was granted the French national studio, Van Gogh international art studio in Paris Auvers sur Oise, where he works till present. His first exhibition Sign Me – Name Sculpture Global Signature Action Art took place in 2008 at Paris Auvers sur Oise. The second edition of Sign Me held 2009 in Taipei. We are now welcoming the 3rd Sign Me - Name Sculpture Global Signature Action Art at Today Art Museum.

Fu spent 30 years in art creation. His art forms three lines. The first line is parallel to his personal study and re-creation of the western classics and modernistic canons . The second line is a fruit of crossover of his New Works of the Old Paintings series. Fu is not only an outstanding modern artist, but also a very insightful connoisseur and resolute collector of European antiques. The Sign Me sculpture signature action art project Fu launched 2008 at Auvers sur Oise of Paris is an embodiment of the third line of his artistic transcendence. The start of this project manifests that Alixe Fu has transformed from a modernistic artist into a contemporary conceptual artist with strong consciousness of the intervention of reality.
